The annual CMT show in Stuttgart, Germany features one of the largest ranges of motorhomes, camper vans and innovative tech in Europe, but rarely does something so big grace the event as this six-wheeler motorhome/horse trailer from RJH. This truck camper is part of their “Exclusive” range of horse transporters, capable of carrying and sleeping five horses and six humans, and was easily the biggest and most expensive vehicle at the show.

The 26 ton motor home is built from a Mercedes Actros 2545 truck, a lean mean six wheeler machine capable of delivering 444bhp.
The entrance to the living quarters at the front of the truck is via a side entrance beneath a large roll-out awning. The interior is not what you’d expect, with stone facade walls, wood trim and tiled floors making this camper feel like a real home from home for maximum comfort on the road.

An expandable compartment on the driver’s side slides out to accommodate the living area, which is made up of a U-shaped lounge area and dinette with a sizeable flat screen TV. The seats in the cab make up part of the living area too as they swivel 180° to join the lounge, and above these sits of one the motorhome’s three double beds.

This king size power lift bed lowers down over the cab to sleep two, while another two are housed in the truck’s only fixed bed above the bathroom/entrance, accessible by a ladder and furnished with a small TV. The dinette and seating area converts into the third and final bed in the living quarters, completing the seating arrangements for three couples or an entire family.

RJH has included a basic yet upmarket kitchen in this build, with a dual burner cooktop, a sink with draining board and a coffee maker.

Stepping into the bathroom however feels as though you’ve entered a swish hotel with a ceramic sink and toilet alongside a multijet shower behind a glass screen and not a portaloo in sight.

Of course the integral part of this build for any prospective owner is the horse transporter section at the rear of the truck. A large drop down ramp allows the horses to enter, and the interior contains adjustable partitions and shelving as well as an access door connecting the stables to the living quarters.

All of this could be yours, for the princely sum of €499,000 ($550,000), although this is one of RJH’s most expensive models. However the Munich-based company specializes in custom vehicles built to order so each of their creations is individually priced and built to the customer’s specifications.
